photoblog image The King of Margam

Wow. That is an awesome shot. My Dad would love this. If he had a computer I'd send him an e-card.
Michael Bryant-Plenty: There is something about stags - they are so majestic and they lend themselves perfectly to this type of dramatic silhouette. I took MANY pictures on the day I visited Margam Park but very few of them provided the basic material to work with - and I have worked on this photo quite a lot in Photoshop. Mike

Lovely ! A "Gone with the wind" sky !
Michael Bryant-Plenty: Hi Florence, thanks for your comment - much appreciated. Mike

A bit off center would have worked better but its a cool silhouette
Michael Bryant-Plenty: Hi Stan, thanks for your input. I've noticed that when I'm shooting or processing images my natural inclination is to centre them up! I think your right in that very often placing the subject off centre (in this case I guess to the right of the frame) "improves" the composition. When I have a mo I might re-frame this one per your suggestion. Thanks again. Mike

Very nice silhouette shot. I like the colour tones.
Michael Bryant-Plenty: Hi Richard - thanks for your comment - I've not seen many deer in the past and certainly have not managed to get so close. Neither have I photographed any before. I just shot away and (by luck) got some shots which I was able to work with (this one is quite heavily processed in Photoshop - altering the levels and so on to create the silouette - but basic material was there in one or two pics). Wonderful image - very nicely composed.
Michael Bryant-Plenty: Thanks David - I'd really like to pay a visit north of the border and maybe try and photograph some deer in the Highlands! Mike

beautiful image! Very majestic and powerful and yet serene. Makes me wish I was there to witness the scene in person. And, my name being Stagg and our family Coat of Arms featuring stags prominently, I have always been fond of images featuring stags.
